Worn smack dab out!
Man! I just started subbing (yesterday 3rd grade and today 1st grade) and I am literally worn out! (Doesn't help that I have a little cold.) I now know how hard it is going to be being a teacher. The little kids are cute and all, but I can only teach grades 4-8. That being said, I now believe I am switching from the 4/5 grade level to wanting to teach the 7/8 grade level. I need a little more organization than the chaos of the little ones. Of course, I need to sub a 7th or 8th grade class first to know the truth. It just has to be a tad better. We'll see! :)

First day of subbing!
Well, I just completed my very first day of subbing! WHEWWWWwwww!!!! I subbed for a 3rd grade class at Jones Elementary in Springdale. They were so cute and sweet, but man, they LOVE when they have a sub! I probably threatened to move their color to yellow at least 10 times. It always seemed to work, but it was short-lived. We did many activities such as learning to tell time, math problems, read-alouds, and telling-time bingo! I think I read 7 books today, which is awesome! I'm so glad we are including so much literacy in the classroom! I can't remember reading that many books when I was in elementary school. Best thing is....the kids LOVE reading! All in all, I can say the day was a success! Several of my kids drew pictures for me and wrote me the sweetest letters saying: "you are the best substitute I've ever had in my whole life; you will make a great teacher; I wish you were a real teacher; and thank you for everything." These letters really made my day. I love touching a child's life and this makes me know for certain that teaching is the job for me! :)
